The Rock has been an experience and a half!
After arriving, we went up to Gros Morne (the National Park in Newfoundland) and camped at Shallow Bay. This area has the most beautiful beach in Newfoundland (we think). The skies cleared and the sunny warm weather began. Nana and Opa certainly used up their angel points for this trip!
We went north to the Norse Viking site at L'Anse aux Meadows. We saw iceburgs and moose. After four days we then went across the island to see St. John's. We hiked Signal Hill and went on a boat tour to see whales and the provincial bird, the Atlantic puffin (very cute).
We stayed at a few provincial parks (much to Henry's dismay, we were unable to get to and stay at "Blow Me Down Provinical Park"), but the other parks were quite nice. We also viewed a couple of lighthouses.
My laptop is having a hard time picking up wireless signals, so there won't be any pictures to post to blogger just yet. This post is being done on the ferry from Channel Port Aux Basques, NL to North Sydney, NS.
The Rock is done...Kouchibouiquac Park in New Brunswick is next.
Currently in the midst of...
