Almost 100 years old!

No...I am not quite that old yet!

You see, Jenny and I took the Model T out for a spin on Sunday.

Actually, we just admired the jalopy while we were in Strathroy and asked the owners (part of a 30 car tour) for a picture with old 'Bernadette' (born in 1913)

(It may get from point A to point B, but it will not hold three sets of goalie gear)

Work vs. shopping...

Henry would rather work on a Saturday than go shopping!

Go figure...

Not very often...

It is not very often that I see both my brothers in one week! Colin came out to visit on Monday, and Mike, Jane, Katie and Alex came out on Thursday.

Even Jane couldn't believe that Katie convinced her to give the trampoline a try...

Friday, August 25, 2006

Jenny is a happy girl now that Henry finally hung up her horsey swing!

Now, instead of laying on the trampoline playing GameBoy, she is gently swaying in the tree.

At least she is moving a little!

Passive athleticism

It is not very often that I coin a phrase...but I thought this one covered all the angles (oops, no angles ~ just roundness) so to speak! (HA HA)

Jenny is utilizing the trampoline...just not quite the way it was intended!

Fun and games!

On the long weekend in August, we went camping with a group of friends/family that we haven't camped with before. We had a great time! Note Michael and Jenny (above) participating in a sack race. The fun part was that the adults had a turn after the children!

Then came the water balloons...the women seemed to gravitate towards Henry (payback perhaps?)

You know you're having fun when all the liqueur bottles come out, about a dozen adults get comfortable in a large circle, and the shot glasses get lined up on a tray! (We were so bamboozeled ~ literally ~ that we just roasted hot dogs over the campfire for supper that night)

We had a yummy afternoon/evening of polishing off the butterscotch~vanilla~mint chocolate Baileys~Godiva~and other various assortments of specialty bottles.

I bet our recycling guys were wishing they were at THAT particular party!

blogging in a snap

Yes, I feel like snapping something alright!

Ever since we came back from holidays, I can't seem to post photos to the blog!

I have tried Blogger's help functions, and countless other 'suggestions'.

I even borrowed a book at a college library today, "Blogging in a snap."

It seems my last option is to change my browser from Internet Explorer to Firefox???
Does anyone know if I do this, do I lose all my favorites etc.??

I've been posting no problem for a long time and now I have issues??? (Well, I know I have some issues ~ who doesn't?)

Someone please advise before I give up all together!!!!

not from me...

Jenny does not get her mojo from me.

She thrives on anything extreme.

Take Darien Lake for example...grin from ear to ear when she went on the skyswing with her Uncle Colin and cousin Ben.

This bungee-type ride drops the participants from 180 feet in the air. They drop, then 'swing' over the crowd of gawkers (mother included).

She definitely takes after Henry's side of the family (yes, godmothers...I see more of you both in her every day! Julie, we all commented that Jenny looked just like you as she was hoisted up to the top!)

[my photos still aren't transferring over...will have to ask Blogger support for help. Sorry folks!]

me oh my

With three goalies in the family, I am starting to see my share of arenas again. I know...it is only August and all three of them have ice time each week!

Me...I run to keep up with them, only I run at home where I am readily available to take them (or pick them up) at the arena.

Having lived in Strathroy this week at the arena due to goalie camp for Michael and Jenny, I was somewhat taken aback that "MY" parking spot was not available when we arrived today for AAA tryouts. I should have put pylons around the area yesterday when leaving!

People seem surprised to see the back hatch of the van open and me sitting outside in my chair with my book, water bottle, and box of fruit/gaterade/snacks. I read three, yes, count 'em, three books last week while Michael and Jenny were at lunch and doing dryland training. I also got my power walks in with a new friend goalie mom from Michigan. Lori, I hope you didn't have to wait long at the border on your trip home! (After the plane incidents in England, Lori was afraid they would have a few hour wait at the border ~ not what you want after spending the week in a hotel (airing out smelly hockey gear overnight) and at the arena in a foreign country.

Jenny took to goalie camp like a duck to water...skating like a pro in her new goalie skates and gear. She even made it to the final two in the shoot-out contest! Not bad, considering there are about twenty goalies in her division.

Michael was determined to win the shoot-out and achieved his objective on Thursday to receive the "no rebounds" sticker to proudly display on his helmet.

On Monday I will start the final work placement for my course, and thus be able to graduate with the Fall convocation. Of course, there isn't any work on the horizon...but, I will keep my fingers crossed!

For some reason, I am not able to display my photos anymore. I have tried to post photos all week with no success. I will have to look into this at some point I'm sure.

I figured at least I would post as I have received some flack for not posting.

Thank you to my three diligent readers! (This is for you!)
